Chaitanya Desai, son of late Makrand Desai, one of the key founders of the Jan Sangh in the state and country, was granted the ticket on the Akota seat for the upcoming Vidhansabha Elections. Makrand Desai went on to become the first state president of the BJP and also the state energy minister.

 

Chaitanya was a corporator for two consecutive terms from 2010 to 2020. His mother Neela Desai was one of the proposers for Modi’s name when he contested from the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat in 2014.

Chaitanya believes in uplifting the society from the ground level and has always served the society by working on-ground on the real problems himself. He has been serving the society from a very young age and was mentored by great minds across his career. His major contribution is towards empowering the youth of the city. He has empowered the sport eco-system of the city by being a part of senior leadership of the Baroda Rifle Club and Baroda District Amature Athletic Association.
